Back on track.... Things in the house are slowly getting back on track. Life and breeding eventually has to continue....The most important thing is that Rosy is healthy and OK.
All the five kittens in our Hoodoo-litter has now moved to their new homes. Fortune Teller and Hoodoo Doll are living in pet homes here in Kokkola, while Goofer Dust is living in Tampere. The boy Trick Bag lives in Ylivieska together with Foxypaw's Red Rover. Last but not least, Pocket Piece was picked up by her new owner at the SUROK show in Helsinki a week ago and she is now living with Jane & Flemming Vorbeck at DK*Vorbeck cattery in Denmark.
Hoodoo Doll, Pocket Piece and Trick Bag were on show in Helsinki on saturday 14th and they all got excellent judgements. Hoodoo Doll and Pocket Piece were of course againts each other and this time Ex1 went to Dolly, while PP was Ex2. Trick Bag had one competitor and got Ex1.
We would like to wish good luck and happiness with the new family members to all the owners of our Hoodoo-kittens!

Soon...
...it's time to say goodbye to our lovely kittens. In fact Fortune Teller has already moved to her new home. Goofer Dust is picked up tomorrow and the upcoming weekend we'll also say goodbye to Pocket Piece, who will move to Denmark. Hoodoo Doll and Trick Bag will also leave us during next week.
Only a couple of days left until Rosy's delivery. If everything goes well, she will most likely deliver between friday-sunday. As said before, we expect only a few kittens. Very exciting and we're hoping for some goodies ;-).... |

Kittens 11½ weeks!
Well, christmas is behind and we're heading towards a new year and new adventures!
The Hoodoo-kittens are close to 12 weeks now and within 1½ weeks they start to move to their new owners. Lovely kittens and we sure are going to miss them....
About 2½ weeks to go to Rosy's expected delivery. Her weight increase has been very moderate and to be honest, we're actually not 100% sure if she's got anything in her belly or not(?) Might be one or two, we have to wait and see....

Kittens 8 weeks!
The Hoodoo-litter is now 8 weeks old. A few days ago we removed the fence to the kitten room and they can now run around in the whole house as they please....and they definitely love it!
All kittens except for Hoodoo Doll are now booked. We also have some nice homes waiting for Hoodoo Doll, but depending on her profile development within the next few weeks we will then decide if she will go to a breeding home or as a pet. Either way, regardless our decision she will stay in Finland .

Hoodoo-kittens 6 weeks!
A bit behind with the homepage update. Sorry for that...
The kittens turned 6 weeks last saturday. They're all doing just fine...and now they are getting really wild!
We have now started to make decisions about their future homes. However, some of the kittens might still be availabe. The girl Pocket Piece and the boy Trick Bag are now basically booked. Fortune Teller is a very nice and promising girl and we are mainly looking for a breeding/show home for her. Goofer Dust is the smallest in the litter, but she has caught up with the other ones during thew last week and tecnically she is actually quite nice. And she's got a really adoralble temper! Unfortunately Hoodoo Doll is not developing the way we've been hoping for :-( She's probably got the best ears & body of them all, but her profile is, at least at the moment, too bumpy and if there's not going to be a significant improvement, we will find her a nice pet home.
If you're interested in one of the available girls, please feel free to contact us for further information!
And new kitten pictures on the "kittens" page of course ;-)

Bubble Yum & Juicy Fruit...
...turned 12 weeks on tuesday. These two girls have most fantastic personalities and they are also super social, just like Helena's previous kittens. Simply a fantastic litter!
Next week they will have their second vaccination and on the 25th Juicy Fruit's new owners will come to pick her up.
And Bubble Yum?... Well, it looks like this beauty queen with her amazing personality has "wrapped" us around her paw, no question about that ;-) We've had plans to keep a kitten after Helena and we would most likely regret if we let this girl go. So, we have a new family member!

Juicy Fruit is now booked. She will move to a pet home here in Finland. On Bubble Yum we're not sure yet and we need to take a time-out before we make a final decission. It's also possible that she will stay in the cattery as we would very much like to keep a girl from Helena. This beautiful girl and her amazing personality is almost impossible to resist! These two girls are amazingly attached to humans, just like the ones in Helena's first litter. As soon as someone enters the room they come running to get cuddled!
New pictures on the "kittens" site :-)

Newborn kittens!
We are happy to announce that Helena's kittens were born yesterday! Not the smoothest delivery and unfortunatelly we lost the first kitten (a male, n 09 23/24) that came out late in the morning :-( It was born slowly with the rear legs first and we could immediately see that the legs were kind of blueish. When it finally came out there was no signs of life and we tried to bring it back to life for about half an hour, but finally we had to give up...
During the day we could still feel movements in her belly, but nothing happened. In the evening we made the decision to take her to the vet to to check how many kittens she was holding and how they were positioned. The x-ray picture showed two kittens in "right" position. Helena was given a shot of oxytocin to cause contractions and as soon as we got home the first kitten was born. A white female, birth weight 110g. About an hour later a tortie mackerell/spotted-bicolour kitten was born. Birth weight 111g. Sweet and lively kittens!
Helena and the kittens are doing just fine and we are happy that everything went well in the end!
More picture including names etc. later on.

Soon!
Only a few days left until Helena's kittens will arive! She seems to be just fine and she is extraordinarily sociable and is also continually purring :-)
If everything goes normally she should give birth between sunday and tuesday. Her weight increase so far has been quite moderate and there is not that much movement in her belly and we believe she will have only a few kittens. Our guess is 2-3, but who knows, maybe she'll surprise us and deliver 4 ;-)...

Show opening!
We've been to the first show of the year in Lahti last weekend. Once again a very nice show arranged by SUROK and we really enjoyed it!
Apart from our female Bibbity-Boo and our neutered male Desperado four FoxyPaw's cats participated at the show with following results:
FoxyPaw's Icebreaker, JW
Best In Show!(saturday) and HP NOM(sunday).
FoxyPaw's Full Time Lover, JW was
BIV NOM on saturday and got the DVM title! On sunday he got HP.
FoxyPaw's Fiery Queen was on her first show on saturday and got Ex1 BIV!
FoxyPaw's Jupiter Five was on show on sunday and got his CACIB certificate with very nice judgements.
On saturday FoxyPaw's Bibbity-Boo was best adult female of her colour group and became GIC! On sunday she was nominated and finally lost the BIS after revoting!
Restless Desperado got his CAPIB certificates and was also nominated on both days.
Also, congratulations to Sisu's look-alike son Tähtitassun Carl Philip, who was BIS junior on saturday! Once again thanks for a nice weekend and also thanks to all the owners for showing the cats!

The Sweden tour...
...during last weekend is happily behind. Helena had her date with Just Catnap's Chad and if everything goes well we should have kittens in late march. But we have to wait and see...
We also took the time to go and see Bibbity-Boo's coming date and meet his owners. It was really great to be able to see him live before the upcoming date and we simply have to say that he is a super nice boy and we are very excited about the planned mating! Well, if you can't hold out your curiosity any longer you can go to the "plans" page to find out who he is ;-)...
And no, it's not the silver boy in the picture to the right...because that is one year old FoxyPaw's Idol's Eye alias "Kippis" living at Just Catnap's. This was the first time we've met him since he left the house and it was sooo great to be able to spend some time with him. He has developed into a big, strong and stunning looking boy with a super sweet temper. He's got amazing ears, fantastic expression, a tail to die for and his silver is still super clear with no signs of rufism. We are so proud of him and it's going to be very exciting to see his offspring later on!

Last show weekend...
...for 2010 in Finland is behind. More than 800 cats/day and about 350 cats in category II participated on the show in Turku. Now we just wait for the confirmation of final show rankings in 2010...
Icebreaker was Best In Show on saturday for the 25th time this year... UNBELIEVEBLE! He was also nominated on sunday. Two boys from our last litter, Jock Scott and Dusty Miller, made their show debute in Turku with very nice judgements on both days. They both went to the panel on sunday and Jock Scott even got two votes against Tähtitassun Carl Philip( a look-alike son of Icebreaker) who was BIS on both days.
Desperado, who is a neuter since july, also permormed well and was nominated on both days. He even got one vote on saturday. A daughter od Desperado and our youngest female Bibbity-Boo acted super cool as usual and it seems like nothing is disturbing her. She got very good judgements on both days and was best adult female in her colour group on both days.
The neutered male Baron, also a son of Desperado, was on show on both days. He got great judgements as usual and was nominated on saturday. Furthermore, Jupiter Five was shown on sunday and became Champion.
Thank you all for the nice weekend!
The results can be found on the cats & litter pages.

Our awesome looking silver tortie kitten Evening Star is still available!
We concider her to be one of the strongest kittens (if not the strongest) in her litter and actually it's kind off odd that she is still in the house...
She is now a bit over 17 weeks and she is still developing nicely. Her weight at 17 weeks was 2,4 kg, which is very good for a female kitten at this age. She's got a really nice long & strong body, long tail, a nice straight profile, a good chin and nice big ears. She's also got a strong personality. Hmm, actually not much to complain about ;-) Well, her ear setting could maybe be slightly better. However, we all know that there is no such thing as the "perfect" forest cat ;-)...
If you are interested and would like to know more, please feel free to contact us.
There is a bunch of new pictures on Evening Star on the "kittens" page.

29.10.20120
Ressu, Roosa, Pippi and our 14 week old kittens Silver Ardea & Evening Star spent last saturday at the local pet shop as they were having a s.c. cat-day in the shop. A lot of people came and our cats obviously got a lot of attention and admiration from the visitors :-)
What else? Well, Okki's and Desperado's beautyful silver girls Evening Star and Silver Ardea are still available!
In fact these two girls have gathered many fans. We also have to say that they are very social, brave and curious kittens. Well, they have some minor "beauty faults", but nothing that bad. Evening Star has a long body & tail, high legs, a very good boning and a really nice profile and chin. However, we would wish her a to have a little more broadness in the head and her ear placement could be a little better. Silver Ardea is a bit weaker in both lenghts and boning. She's also got a small "dimple" in her profile( quite unnoticeable though). However, Ardea has very nice ears & ear setting and a fantastic expression.
We would like to inform that Evening Star is available for show/breeding. Ardea on the other hand is mainly looking for a pet home. Even though she could well be both shown and used for breeding, we prefer to sell her to a "pet" home here in Finland due to her a bit uneven profile. Feel free to contact us if you are interested in Evening Star!
14 week pictures can be found on the "kittens" page.

Bye bye...
Okki's and Desperado's salmonflies turned 12 weeks last saturday and five kittens have already left the house. A bit wistful as always even though we now we've found the right homes for them...
Red Rover and Silver Doctor moved on saturday while Fiery Queen and Dusty Miller left us on sunday. RR is now living with his new owner in Ylivieska, one hour drive from Kokkola, and SD lives with his new family here in Kokkola. DM and FQ moved to the southern/south eastern part of Finland to live with their new families. Jock Scott's lives now in Vähäkyrö, about 120 km from Kokkola. Now we only have the two silver girls Ardea and Evening Star left as we still haven't found the "right" homes for them...
New pictures on the "kittens"page" including a few extras ;-)...
Below results from the Ery-Syd show in Helsinki on 9-10th of oktober:
SC FI*FoxyPaw's Icebreaker, JW alias "Sisu"

And last but not least, Sisu's look-alike son Tähtitassun Carl Philip was

So close...
The "salmonflies" are now 11½ weeks old and during next weekend the first kittens will start to move to their new homes. Amazing how fast the weeks are running!
The two beautiful girls Silver Ardea and Evening Star are still available. Ardea is mainly looking for a pet home, but we might still concider other requests also. For Evening Star we are mainly looking for a home that is interested in shows/breeding, but we might also concider other alternatives as the most important thing is to find a good home of course.
In the picture to the right is Silver Ardea with her wonderful expression.
11 week pictures can be found on the "kittens" page!

Kittens ten weeks
The past weekend was a bit hectic and we didn't really have the time to update the homepage. Anyway, new kitten pictures can be found on the "kittens" page :-)
During the past week the kittens have had some diarrhea and they have been vomiting also, but otherwise they have been playful and lively as usual! It has effected their weight gain though.
What else? Well, Silver Ardea is still available, but she is mainly looking for pet home here in Finland.
Evening Star, who was booked for a while, is available again. She is a really promising girl with a strong & long body and a nice tail. She's also got a very nice profile and a strong chin.
At the moment we are not sure what we want to do with Evening Star. As soon as we know more we'll put out some information on the homepage.

Salmonflies nine weeks
The kittens are now nine weeks old. Time has passed incredibly fast and in a couple of weeks the kittens start to move to their new homes.
Six kittens are now booked including Evening Star. Silver Ardea(picture! ->)was on hold for a while but is now available. However, we are mainly looking for a pet home for her. We've had many inquiries on her from breeders abroad, but even though she's got a fantastic expression and really nice ears we think that she is a bit weak in both body and profile at the moment. Who knows, she might end up to be a really nice cat in the end, but we don't want to her to go for show/breeding unless we are convinced that her development is going in the right direction. However, if we can't find her the "perfect" pet home and her body and profile gets better, we might still concider her for breeding/show.

Kittens 8 weeks!
Our Salmonflies are now eight weeks and it is a whole lot of fun to watch them run and play around the house :-)
After a lot of thinking we've finally made our minds up about the new homes of most of the kittens. We've received so many inquiries and we have to say that this time it was extremely difficult to make the "right" choices. All four boys are now booked and we have decided that they will all stay in Finland, either as pets or for show/breeding. Fiery Queen is also booked. We've had inquiries on her from many breeders around Europe, but we feel that she should be a bit stronger in some details if exported outside Finland. Therefore she will move to a pet home here in Finland. The other two females, Silver Ardea and Evening Star, are on hold and we should know more in the very near future.

Salmonflies five weeks!
Five weeks behind and our salmonflies are getting more and more beautiful each day :-) They are really wild from time to time and they already know how to hit all those balls and other toys. The big climbing tree in the kitten room is also in active use.
During the past weeks we've been a bit thoughtful about the colours & patterns on a few of the kittens, but we think we have more or less sorted it out. Dusty Miller seems to be redsilver just as we thought from the very beginning. After a more closer look and concideration we also think that the silvertortie girl Evening Star should not be a bicolour(03) but a harlequin(02) instead. This also means that her pattern will be 21. But, none of this is "announced in the church" yet as we say....

Kittens four weeks!
Okki's and Desperado's salmonflies are now four weeks and their development is extremely fast at the moment. They curiously explore all the exiting things in the kitten room and they are getting more and more lively each day. Yesterday they had their first taste of minced meat and they definitely liked it! They also got to taste some boiled perch fillet. Yam!
Their weight gains are still nice and even. Dusty Miller is the biggest one(618g) followed by Jock Scott(590g) and Evening Star(581g). The smallest one at the moment is Silver Ardea(502g). However, she's still got a nice boning and and a really promising head and look.
All in all a very trouble free litter so far and it's a lot of fun to be around them :-)

Kittens one week! Okki's and Desperado's new "salmonfly classics" turned 1 week yesterday. Everything is just fine and the kittens are growing nicely.

The guesswork...
...on the content inside Okki's belly went wrong :-(.... Okki gave birth to not five or six as we guessed, but to seven babies during yesterday! In her three litters the avarage is almost eight kittens, so her nickname "supermum" is not exaggerated at all :-)
All the kittens are doing just fine and it's very quiet in the box, so there seems to be a lot of milk for everyone. And Okki is extremely happy as you can see. Birthweights were between 112g and 140g and they are already gaining weight nicely.
And yes , first pictures including names and colours can be found on the "kittens" page ;-) The pictures are taken today at 1 day and some of the profiles are starting to bend a bit, but we decided to put them out anyway. Colours might still change. Anyway, it looks like we have at least two or three silver cats....

The neutered male SP GIC FI*FoxyPaw's Baron, JW alias Bjarki was shown only on saturday and was also Best In Show!
Bjarki's and Rosy's sister IC FI*FoxyPaw's Thunder&Lightning alias Milli got her CAGCIB certificates on both days and for also Best Breeding female on sunday.
Rosy (SC FI*FoxyPaw's Rosy Dawn, JW), who is still not in her best coat, was HP BIV-TOT NOM on both days and achieved as our first cat the DVM-title (Distinguished Variety Merit-title). She also got one vote on both days in the panel.
Last but not least, the 4 months old son of our Rosy, FI*FoxyPaw's Jupiter Five was EX1 on saturday and Ex1 BIV(3-10) NOM on sunday with excellent judgements. Especially Raymond Saetre, who judged him on sunday, was fascinated by this young boy and praised him highly. Jupiter also got two votes in the panel.
Big big congratulations to all the cats and their owners for a fantastic show weekend!
Furthermore, FoxyPaw's was Nr.1 Breeder in category II on saturday. Unfortunatelly we only had enough cats for the breeding category on saturday....

"Reunion"
Our "plans" site is now updated, which means that Okki's (SC FIN*Kehrääjän Orvokki, DM) fiance' is officially announced :-) In fact Okki is in heat at the moment and has already mated several times! If everything goes well she'll deliver her kittens in mid july.
We've already made the decision to neuter our Sweden import male Desperado (GIC S*Restless Desperado, JW) in the near future and as these might possibly also be Okki's last kittens, we decided to redo the succesful combination between Okki and Desperado!
The earlier litter (Classic Salmon Flies, born 01.12.2007) between these two gorgeous cats consisted of nine kittens(!) and had a very high overall standard with excellent tempers and we couldn't simply resist this "reunion". The former litter also has a lot of fans all over the world and we've had many inquiries about a possible reprise. It's going to be very interesting to see if they can deliver another litter of the same standard. Exciting!
More info found on "plans" site.

"Jackpot"
As seen in the picture to the right, we had a lot of "souvenirs" to bring back home from the show in Helsinki last weekend ;-) Except from the sparkling trophys and fancy rosettes we also had the car packed with all kind of prize-food and other things. Hmm, it's good to have a decent size car...:-))
Below results from the RUROK show 24-25. april:
IC FIN*FoxyPaw's Icebreaker, JW alias Sisu was Best In Show on both days! Also our silver princess Rosy Dawn returned from her show break after having her first litter and was BIS on both days! On sunday she also became Supreme Champion! Rosy's coat is just on the way and her immediate success was definitely a bit of a surprise.
Sisu's brother FIN*FoxyPaw's Deep Freeze alias Simba competed for the first time in neuters and got his CAP certificates on both days with excellent judgements. He also went to the panel on sunday and even got one wote in a very hard competition. Simba has grown into a very handsome and strong boy! Sisu's & Simba's sister Frostbite alias Julia was also shown. This time her competitor was a bit stronger and Julia was Ex2 on both days with nice judgements.
The latest FoxyPaw's baby Jupiter Five alias Jupi also made his show debute in Helsinki on sunday. Only 3½ months old Jupi coped very well among all the new and a bit "scary" things and got an excellent judgement being Ex1.
EC FIN*Tähtitassun Balladi Helena, the white mother of Sisu, Simba and Julia, was also shown for the first time since december 2008. Hellu was judged only on saturday and got HP but participated in the breeding class on both days and was Best Breeding Female in kat. II on both days!
Further, our Bibbity-Boo alias Pippi, now in her bikinis, got her CACIB certificate on both days with very good judgements as always.
And on the top of it all FoxyPaw's was nr.1 Breeder in kat. II on both days!
The fantastic show weekend was completed on saturday when the best cats in Finland in 2009 were awarded by Suomen Kissaliitto (the Finnish Cat Association). This time we had the honour to receive the award for Nr.1 Adult in kat. II (SC FIN*FoxyPaw's Rosy Dawn, JW) and for Nr.1 Breeding Female (SC FIN*Kehrääjän Orvokki, DM) . We also got the award for Nr.2 Breeding Male (GIC S*Restless Desperado, JW).
Furthermore, many of our own cats and cats from our breeding also topped the rankings in Norjalainen Metsäkissa ry (the Finnish Norwegian Forest Cat Club) in 2009. The awards from this competition were already handed over at the show in Turku earlier this spring.
The results from last years competition in Suomen Kissaliitto can be found here ("kategoria II") and the results from the Finnish Norwegian Forest Cat Club can be found here. Sites only in Finnish, sorry!
Once again we would like to thank all the FoxyPaw's owners for coming to the shows. THANK YOU!

A bit wistful...
The "gems" have left the building... Jupiter Five and Idol's Eye turned 12 weeks last sunday and have now moved to their new homes. Jupiter moved already on monday and lives now with his new family and his new NFO friends in Halli in the center part of Finland.
Idol's Eye left us today. He travelled with his new owner across the water to our western neighbour country Sweden and has probably just arrived to his new home, which is located at a beautiful site by the sea.
In Idol's case we decided to go for an old school barter trade and as we concider him to be an excellent "product", we wanted something as good in trade of course ;-)... What could that be? Well, the world's best Swedish hard bred and some Swedish "kaviar" of course, YAM!
We wish our gems and their new owners good luck!

Kittens 10 weeks!
Jupiter and Idol's Eye turned 10 weeks yesterday. Only about 2½ weeks and the boys are heading for new adventures....
Their physical development is still very nice and they both look simply wonderful. Well, their weight gain has slowed down a bit from the earlier weeks, but they are still nice in size. Jupiter was 1416g and Idol's Eye 1566g at the age of 10 weeks.

Kittens 9 weeks!
Already nine weeks and little by little we have to start to get used to the idea that within 3-4 weeks these " two "gems" are moving to their new homes. A bit sad as usual, but we have found them good homes and we are sure that they are going to be fine.
We have now found a perfect home for Jupiter. In fact his coming owners were visiting him during last weekend.

Kittens 7 weeks!
Another week has passed....The boys are getting pretty wild and we can tell for sure that the kitten room fence will not hold them back that long. Actually they've already explored the rest of the first floor a couple of times and they obviously enjoyed it :-)
A bit surprisingly their weight gain last week was quite tacky. Their eating was weak and they didn't really gain any weight during the first half of the week. A bit strange as they showed no actual signs of illness. Especially Jupiter refused to eat. However, their appetite is back and everything is normal again....Idol's Eye was 1023g yesterday and Jupiter 954g. Still big boys....
We've had many inquiries on Jupiter from abroad, but we have decided that Jupiter is going to stay in Finland. The main reason for this is that his brother Idol's Eye is most likely moving abroad and therefore we want the other kitten to stay here in Finland. Jupiter is mainly looking for a home interested in shows, but all inquiries are welcome of course.

Six weeks ....
JF and IE turned six weeks today. We can only say, that these two "gems" are simply gorgeous and they are sparkling more and more each day!
Their weight gain has been a bit more uneven during the past week. On the other hand quite expected as their growth simply can't go on like that....Anyway, they are huge for their age. JF was just below 900g today and IE almost 950g.

Kittens five weeks !
Jupiter Five and Idol's Eye are now five weeks old. Both boys have an impressive size: Jupiter was just above 800g this morning and Idol's Eye was 849g! Concidering their age they are by far the heaviest kittens we've had so far. However, a small litter like this and a litter of f.ex. five kittens are really not comparable.....

Kittens four weeks!
Our "gems" Jupiter Five and Idol's Eye are now four weeks old. Their development is wild at the moment and they are now running around on all four. Well, no wonder as they've discovered a whole new world outside the litter box :-)
Their menu is also slowly getting less liquid-orientated. During last week they've had a first taste of minced beef and from now onwards they will have minced meat and fish plus other solid food every day.

Big boys....
Rosy's and Casanova's "gems" are now three weeks old. Both boys are developing nicely and they are slowly practicing how to stand & walk on all four. However, they still need a lot of practice.... Their weights are now just below 500g, which is just about the weight of a coffee package :-)

"Gemstones" two weeks!
Jupiter Five and Idol's Eye turned two weeks today. They have now finally both opened their eyes and we believe they have a really promising look.
Both boys are still developing nicely. Jupiter's weight is now 378g and Idol's Eye's 367g.
The picture to the right shows Idol's Eye relaxing after a "heavy" meal :-)

Kittens one week!
Rosy's & Casanova's gems turned one week yesterday. Everything is going well and the two boys are simply adorable. They are strong in body with nice round bellys and they are still growing nicely. One week weights were 261g for Jupiter Five and 253g for Idol's Eye. They haven't really opened their eyes yet, but as you can see in the picture, Jupiter's eyes are on their way open out. What else? Well, we are now convinced that Idol's Eye is silver ;-)
We've had a lot of inquiries in advance on silver kittens from this litter and we've received many e-mails on Idol's Eye during the past week. Even though we don't normally book or promise a kitten to anyone this early, we would like to inform, that Idol's Eye is not available any more but on hold.

Kitten pictures!
Pictures & names of the boys on the "kittens" page :-)
The kittens and mum Rosy are still doing just fine. It looks like Rosy has got a lot of milk and it shouldn't be a very challenging task at all to take care of a small litter like this. No wonder that there is a complete silence in the litter box :-)Their weight gain has also been steady during the two first days.

Finally!
The looong and excruciating wait is over at last! Rosy gave birth to two brisk boys during sunday morning. Even though we secretly wished for three or four kittens, Rosy actually delivered just as many as we thought she would. So far everything is perfect and the boys and mum are doing just fine.
In fact we were expecting the kittens to be born somewhere in the middle of last week, but Rosy decided to keep us in excitement all the way :-)
The two kittens were born within 20 minutes and the whole birth giving went perfectly. The firsborn boy is a blackblotchedtabby-bicolour(n 03 22) with a birtweight of 140g. The second one is most likely a blacksilver blotchedtabby-bicolour(ns 03 22) with a funny white tailtip. Birthweight 124g. However, not yet 100% sure about the silver.
Pictures including litter theme & names will be out on the homepage tomorrow.

Happy New Year 2010!
Well well, year 2009 has turned into 2010 in a fairly cold weather....at least here on the Finnish west coast. In fact we haven't had such a cold december month in the last ten years or more. Today we have -15 degrees celsius and the forecast tells it's going to get colder. It has also been snowing almost every day and there is a lot of snow even in the most southern part of Finland, which has become quite rare. In other words we have a genuine winter!
The new year is going to get a very exciting start in our cattery as we expect Rosy's and Casanova's kittens to be born within the next week! Everything has gone smooth so far and Rosy seems to be doing just fine. So far her weight gain is about 1100g and based on our observations we believe that she is going to have only a few kittens. Our guess is two kittens, but this is only a wild guess of course. Let's hope Rosy is fooling us and she'll deliver at least three babies as we have some nice names in store ;-)
For many Foxypaw's cats year 2009 was once again, both nationally and internationally, fantastic in terms of show success! We would humbly like to thank all the FoxyPaw's owners who have made this possible. THANK YOU SO MUCH! A "brag" summary of year 2009 with all the achievments will be out on the homepage later on.
We also like to thank all the other FoxyPaw's owners for all the nice e-mails, calls and pictures. We hope to have the opportunity to follow the lifes of all the cats even in the future!

Rosy is back home again
Rosy's first visit to meet Casanova in the neighboring country Sweden is now over. The first day at home went mostly sleeping, but now she is begining to feel home again and most of the time she is spending next to the meatcup.
Now we only have to wait for the result of their date, within couple of weeks we should know it better.
So exciting !
In the pictures to the right are Rosy and Casanova at the age of 6-7 weeks and also a little bit older....

WW-show in St. Gallen, Switzerland :
The annual FiFe' World Winner-show took place in Switzerland last weekend. Unfortunatelly we couldn't be there, but we are so happy that two cats from our breeding participated. Full Time Lover("Mopo") competed in adult males(group IV) and Icebreaker("Sisu") competed in kittens 6-10(group IX).
Mopo won over his competitor and got HP. The competition in his colour group is always tuff. In fact the WW'09 adult male came from this group. Our BIIG congrats to the awesome new title to WW'09 GIC Casanova Khazad-Dûm*F and his "service team" at NC's cattery in Sweden!
Icebreaker, who just turned six months on saturday during the WW show, continued his fantastic show-career and was Ex1 BIV 3-10 and NOM! Unfortunatelly the vote distribution was not announced in the panel. It would of course have been nice to know if he got any votes....
Big big thanks to Eila and Kirsi for bringing the cats to the show! It takes a lot of devotion and diligence, that's for sure.

Kirkkonummi show 10-11.10.2009:
We have been on show in Kirkkonummi(near Helsinki) during the past weekend and Foxypaw's cats were well represented as usual. Besides our Bibbity-Boo six cats from our breeding participated! WOW! FoxyPaw's Icebreaker alias "Sisu" continued his well-started show career and was Ex1 BIV(3-6+A) NOM and Best In Show on saturday and Ex1 BIV(3-6+A) NOM on sunday! On sunday the votes were 2-2 and he lost to a RAG after re-voting. On saturday there was also a BOB panel where Sisu finished on second place!
Two other cats from our breeding, Ooga-Booga alias "Osku" and Frappa-Wappa alias "Topi", also went to the kitten panel during the weekend. Osku was nominated on saturday and Topi on sunday. Topi also got one vote in the panel. On saturday Topi got Ex1 BIV. Furthermore, Full Time Lover alias "Mopo" was in the adult males panel on sunday. We are also proud to tell that Mopo and his son Tähtitassun Vintiö won the "father & son" competition on sunday :-)
The neutered female FoxyPaw's Lady Caroline alias "Nipsu"(Salmonflies-litter), who's living together with her half-brother Ooga-Booga, was also on the show. She's a big cat and so beautiful! She was shown only on saturday just like Ooga-Booga and got Ex2 this time.
Also, first time on show was Sisu's sister Frostbite. This being her first show she acted surprisingly calm and got Ex1 with a really nice judgement.
Osku's and Topi's sister Bibbity-Boo(=Pippi) was Ex2 on saturday and Ex1 on sunday. Topi(on saturday)and Pippi(on sunday) had the same judge as Sisu and competed agains him at the nomination.
Complete results for each cat can be found through the links on "litters" page. You can also find the results here: www.catshow.fi.
Once again BIG thanks to all the owners for showing the cats!

Scandinavian Winner Show
The trip to the Scandinavian Winner Show, held in Nyköping Sweden this year, is behind. This was our first SW show and we definitely enjoyed it! It was so nice to meet "old" friends and also people we only knew trough e-mails. It was also great to see live many of the cats we've only seen on pictures.
FoxyPaw's Baron continued his show success in the neutered males and was CAPS BIV NOM, being the only Finnish forest cat to go to the panel. Full Time Lover from the T-birds litter had a really tough competition in group 4 and was HP. Further, Baron's sister Rosy Dawn also had a lot of competition in her group and didn't get the nomination we hoped for, but got her CACS. Finally, our male Desperado was on show after long break and got his CACS certificate. It was also a pleasure to show him to his breeder, who haven't seen him since he left the cattery.
BIG thank's to everybody for a fun and entertaining weekend!
Well, we had two cats when we went to Sweden, but only one came back with us....because Rosy stayed in Sweden on a date ;-). We truely hope that her date with Casanova proceeds in a "fruitbearing" way so that we can adore their accomplishments later in the autumn :-)

There's also some new pictures of our white charmerboy Deep Freeze, the only kitten still available. He is now 4 months old and a simply gorgeous looking boy with the most adorable temper, just like his siblings. He's got a nice firm body, a fantastic head with a fairly long straight profile, a high rounded forehead and a very good chin. He's also got a really long tail and a super promising coat quality. He is BAER-tested with a normal hearing on both ears.

What else? Well, we believe that it's time to update the kitten plans(finally!). Rosy (and we) have already put our eyes on a very handsome stud....But, you can read more about the subject on our "plans" site within the next couple of days, so please come back soon ;-)

The 13 week old white kittens from our AC-litter, Icebreaker, Frostbite and Deep-Freeze, have been to Helsinki for a hearing test. The BAER-test showed that all three kittens have normal hearing on both ears :-)
The big over 2kg white "teddybear" Icebreaker was the first one to move from this litter. We already miss him, but we're sure that we are going to see a lot of him in the future ;-)
We still have kittens available in this litter. New 13 week pictures on "kittens" page!
The white girl Frostbite is a very nice female with a promising body & head and she's got a lovely expression and a very long tail. The coat also looks promising. Her weight at 13 weeks was 1610g.
Her brother Deep Freeze is also very strong in qualities with a nice body and with a super profile, forehead and chin! His weight today was 1840g.
The black blotchedtabby-white girl Hot n' Cold has the most fantastic personality and she's a biiig purring machine! Her weight today was 1580g. However, it looks like her profile is not going to be as good as on her sibling's and therefore we have made the decision that she is not available for breeding. A bit sad in a way as she is all in all very nice and has the most adorable temper....
And then we of course have the black blotchedtabby-white girl Bibbity-Boo from The Magic Words-litter. So strong in qualities and we don't really know if we can let her go....
Last but not least, our fantastic male S*Restless Desperado, JW is finally an "adult" as he turned 3 years on july 22nd. CONGRATULATIONS! He is still a very soft and sweet boy who loves to be combed.

Magic-kittens are now about 9½ weeks and they are getting really wild! From time to time the race is completely mad and occasionally it feels like their "batteries" will never run out! However, we have to admit that it's a lot of fun to watch them rush around in the house and we've also had ourselves quite a few laughs :-)
New 9½ week pictures of the litter on the "kittens" page!
For those who have interest in our current kittens we would like to inform, that Mumbo-Jumbo in the Magic Words-litter is still available. We are mainly looking for a pet home for him. We also still have 2-3 available kittens in our second litter. These kittens are of show/breeding quality, but could be sold to pet homes as well. If you have interest in any of the kittens, don't hesitate to contact us. We will gladly give you more information.

20.06.2009
We have been busy...
... with our camera again :-) You can now find 8½ and 8 week pictures of the litters on the "kittens" page.
Here below is a few thoughts about the kittens in the Magic Words-litter. We already wrote a few lines about the kittens in the AC-litter in the previous news update a couple of days ago.
Ooga-Booga: A very long in body with a good boning, a long straight profile and a nice rounded forehead. He's got the biggest ears in the litter...and tuffs. He's also got a very nice head triangle and a promising expression. The tail is also long. His chin could be a bit stronger though. A very watchful and alive boy who is in a constant move. However, he already knows how to show himself to the judges ;-)
Frappa-Wappa: A long well built body that feels a bit stronger than his his brother Ooga-Booga's. A long tail, a straight profile, nice forehead, big excellent set ears and a good chin. He's got a very nice expression, though his eyes could maybe be a bit larger. Frappa has been the the loudest "weeper" in the litter since they were born and in between we could only laugh at him, he was so funny :-) A very lively rascal who will without no doubt be a proper challenge for his coming owner ;-)
Bibbity-Boo: Also a long and well built cat that definitely will not physicly remind in the shadow when compared to the boys in the litter. She's also got a long tail just like her three siblings. A very beautyful, long straight profile, a beautyful rounded forehead and an excellent chin. Nice sized perfectly set ears with nice tuffs. Her eyes are maybe a bit sad looking, just like her mum's....at least for the moment. A very brave and busy girl who loves to play with all the toy mouses in the house :-)
Mumbo-Jumbo: Obviously the biggest and strongest kitten in the litter with a long body and a long tail. He's got a broad head with a nice triangle and well sized broad based ears. His profile is long and his forehead is very nicely rounded. However, he's got kind of a small lump at his nose, which makes the profile a bit bumpy at the moment. But it might turn out OK in the end, we have too wait and see....His chin could also be a bit stronger, especially when he's got such a strong head. This boy who actually reminded of a thick black&white mole when he was newborn :-), slowly crawling in the kitten nest, is now an extremely lively and busy boy who gives all the toys (and his siblings of course!) a "cold ride" when or if they enter his range of vision;-) Mumbo is mainly looking for a pet home.

Well, plans are ment to be changed....We had an intention to write a few lines about each kitten in our AC-litter during sunday evening, but to our irritation our computer started to play tricks :-( Now it looks like it's working again...at least for the moment....
Anyway, back to the issue....It's very interesting from a breeders point of view to follow the development of two litters that differ so considerably from each other in type. We had a pretty strong vision in advance how these kittens would look like and it looks like we didn't go that wrong. Well, some minor surprises of course, but nothing peculiar.
Here below is a few thoughts about ech kitten in the AC-kitter, both physics and temper. Regarding the white kittens we are almost 100% sure that all three of them are hearing, but we need a confirmation from our vet of course. It's also possible that that some of them will be BAER-tested if a requirement for that will appear.
Icebreaker: The strongest and probably also a bit longer in body compared to his siblings. A broad head triangle, a fairly long straight profile and quite big perfectly set ears. A forehead like his brother Deep Freeze has and a stronger chin would make him perfect, but you can't have it all... A very brave and social boy who is always among the first ones to climb in our laps.
Johnny B. Cool: The smallest and the shortest in body of the three boys with a look that distinctly differs from his white brothers. Not as broad in the triangle as his two brothers and his ears are probably just a bit high set at the moment, but we're sure they will end up perfect when his head starts to grow in width. However, his ears got good hight and he's got well shaped eyes. He's also got an absolutely straight profile and a nice rounded forehead. This cute boy is very talkative and a big purring machine :-)
Frostbite: The tiniest in the litter but still strong in qualities. A very nice head with a perfect triangle, beautyful profile, perfectly set medium sized ears and a very "girly" look. A very stubborn girl who got used to fight Mumbo-Jumbo (the biggest & strongest kitten in the other litter) for the same spot in the milkbar :-) Definitively the little princess in the litter!
Deep Freeze: Very strong in qualities just like his brother Icebreaker, though a bit weaker in body and smaller ears. However, he's got the most perfect profile, just like his mum, with a high rounded forehead and a nice chin. His eyes look a bit rounded at the moment, but on the other hand he is still young....Very promising looking, lovely and playful boy!
Hot n' Cold: A very sweet tabby girl with a medium strong body, nice broad head triangle and medium sized perfectly set ears. Her profile could be a bit longer and she could have a stronger chin, but on the other hand she's got a really nice rounded forehead instead. She's got a very promising look and we believe she will get green eyes. This girl has the most amazing personality: she is the cuddly cutie in the litter who only wants to purr in our laps all day long!

Finally...
...some time to update the homepage with some news and kitten pictures. So many things to do and so little time....
The kittens are already about six weeks old and it feels like time flies. They're all very outgoing and full of energy and it's so much fun to watch them play and explore new things.
We've had quite many inquiries on both litters and we have now started to make decisions about the new homes for the kittens. In fact Ooga-Booga, Frappa-Wappa, Johnny B. Cool and Hot n' Cold already have new homes. We also have some inquiries on the white kittens, but we haven't made any decisions yet and some of them might still be available. All three of them are very nice in qualities and it's very exciting to see how they will develope in the future. The girl Bibbity-Boo is also super promising and has all the qualities of a fine show/breeding cat. Last but not least, the black&white boy Mumbo-Jumbo is the biggest and strongest kitten of them all...and very playfull as seen on the picture to the right :-)
If you have interrest in any of the kittens, please don't hesitate to send us an e-mail. |

Show results and kitten pictures :-) A bunch of FoxyPaw's cats have been on show in Tallinn, Estonia last weekend:
Britannia NOM BIS on both days and Baron NOM BIS on sunday!
All six cats got their certificates on both days. Full Time Lover was NOM on sunday, Thunder & Lightning was BIV 6-10+A on sunday and Night Hawk was BIV 6-10+A on saturday.
Indian, Night Hawk and Britannia became IC on saturday while Thunder & Lightning got her IC title on sunday. Further Baron became PR on saturday. Our female Okki has now got eight offspring with an IC title and will hereby get her DM title in the near future :-) Once again BIIIG congratulations to all the owners for the fantastic results and thanks for showing the cats!
Complete results can be found through the "litters" page.
New kitten pictures on the "kittens" page ;-) Still a bit behind with the kitten picture updates, sorry for that. Simply too busy to keep up with everything....The kittens refused to co-operate with the camera this time, so there's only one portrait of each kitten. Hope to have better time and to be able to shoot more pictures next week....

Rosy Dawn 2 x BIS!!!
Karita has been on a big show with Rosy and Okki in Tampere during the weekend with some really fantastic results as Rosy got CAGCIB BIV NOM BIS on both days with 7/10 votes on saturday and 8/10 on sunday! It's always great to do well on a big show like this with almost 400 cats in category II and a total number of more than 800 cats :-)
Rosy's two siblings, Thunder&LIghtning and Baron, were also shown. T&L got her third CAC on saturday in a tuff competition (out of 6 cats) and became champion. On sunday she got CACIB. Baron was CAP BIV on saturday and CAP NOM on sunday with one vote in the panel. Full Time Lover from our T-birds litter got CACS BIV on saturday and CACS on sunday and last but not least, Okki got her CACS certificates on both days and was Best Breeding Female on both days!
We were a bit busy during the weekend and didn't have the time to update the website with the 3 week pictures of Helena's kittens, sorry for that. However, there is now new 3½ week pictures of Helena's kittens and 4 week pictures of Zemya's kittens on the "kittens" page! The kittens are all doing well and they are getting more and more lively every day. Today they have moved out from the nest and the are now exploring the surroundings in the kitten room with big curiousity.

It's no mumbo jumbo...
...the Magic-kittens turned three weeks yesterday! They are starting to be a bit restless and bored of just lying around and they are eagerly trying to find out how to climb over the edging of the nest :-) Won't take long before we have to let them explore the whole room...
New pictures on the "kittens" page ;-)

Albert Collins-litter two weeks!
Helena's kittens two weeks today. Everything is fine with them and they are simply adorable! New photos on the "kittens" page :-)
The weeks are quite hectic at the moment with the photo shootings and homepage updatings plus all the other cat "business". But again, we try to enjoy these weeks with the kittens as good as we can, cause the weeks are running so fast and they will be ready to leave us before we even notice it...

Magic-litter two weeks
Zemya's and Desperado's Magic-kittens are now two weeks old. They've all opened their eyes and they are slowly starting to observe the surroundings. They are also clearly starting to react to our voices and movements, which is fun to notice :-)
They all have nice weights even though their weight increase slowed down when the two litters moved together. The black-white boy Mumbo Jumbo was the heaviest one this morning (342g) while the others were between 324 and 335g.
Picture o the right shows the boy Ooga-Booga, who obviously wanted to "fly away" from the photo shooting :-)

Helena's kittens 1 week!
The Albert Collins-litter, offspring to FIN*Tähtitassun Balladi Helena and Dorian av Tyssedal, became one week today. A bit behind in the development from our previous litters, but it's understandable as they were a bit small at birth and had quite a difficult start. However, they are doing just fine at the moment and they all seem to be brisk and strong-willed. Some of them started to open up their eyes already a couple of days ago. Very nice and promising looking kittes!
You will find 1 week pictures on the"kittens" page.

Magic Words-litter 1 week!
Zemya's and Desperado's Magic kittens turned one week today. We have to say that these are the calmest and most quiet kittens we've had so far! We haven't hardly heard any peeping from the nest during the whole week, so we assume that they are satisfied. They are also growing nicely, even though the weight gain has decelerated after combining the two litters.
It's a lot of fun watching all these nine kittens crawling around in the same nest while Zemya and Helena are apparently enjoying each others company.

Now we know how it feels...
...to win in a lottery as Helena basicly gave us all the kittens we had a "wish list" for, including right sex & color :-) well, we didn't get the black blotchedltabby-white male we wished for, but we got a mackerel/spottedtabby male instead, which is close enough ;-) However, Helena gave us a blackblothedtabby female instead....We would also like to reveal, that we had a wish for a white male and a blackagouti-white female...and they were both "delivered"....Quite amazing as you usually don't get the kittens you have a request on...and if you get the right color the sex is wrong. But not this time :-)
There was no way for us to keep Helena from convincing Zemya to move in with her and the kittens in the same nest. As we didn't really understand to fullfill her wish, she spontaneously started to move Zemyas kittens to her own place. In the end we had no option but to help her move all the kittens to the same nest. So now they are all lodging together and they all seem to be very pleased with the arrangement :-)
By the way , 1 day pictures including names etc. can now be found on the "kittens" page ;-)

Four plus five is...nine!
Yep, Helena gave birth to five lovely kittens today :-) We expected 3-4 kittens, so a fifth one was a bit of a surprise. Lively kittens though a bit smaller than in our previous litters. Four of them were between 104 and 113g, while the tiniest one was only 87g, but they all seem to be OK. Anyway, we have to wait and see the next couple of days....Sex and Colours? Well, we'll keep it a secret for a day or two....Let's say that we are quite pleased with the outcome ;-)
Zemya's kittens are doing just fine. They seem to be really satisfied and mainly concentrate on the milk bar and they are about to pass 200g today, at the age of four days. The girl Bibbity-Boo is still the heaviest one, but the three boys are right behind her.
It's going to be really interresting to follow these to litters develop as we are expecting them to differ to some degree in both type and temper. Anyhow, they look really promising!

Just waiting....
Only about 11-13 days left to Zemya's birth giving and about 2½ weeks to Helena's! Their bellies are steadily growing and everything has gone smooth so far. Amazing how fast the weeks are running! The atmosphere in the house is quite calm and cosy at the moment, but it sure will change within a couple of weeks, no doubt about that ;-)

Finally!!!
After all the delay with the plans and some misfortune with the matings we are very happy to announce, that our females Zemya and Helena are finally expecting kittens! Zemya is expected to give birth around 20th of april and Helena about five days later. We didn't really plan to have two litters at the same time, but in this case we didn't have much choice but to let the cats decide :-)
More info about the expected litters including parents, pedigree etc. can be found on the "kittens" page.
As seen in the picture to the right, Desperado seems to be really enthusiastic about his fathers role ;-)....
